hhhmmm, mixed reviews. Hopefully, if I can plead my case of how much I love the car, even in it's mangled state, and it would mean a lot to me if it could be driven again (straight!!), i would be forever grateful..

After driving up to naniamo with my buddy today (sitting in the passenger seat the entire time) I just want to get in my skyline and go for a long cruise.. Ugh

Had a meeting with ICBC and the lady I talked to, name was chris I believe, said she can almost guarantee that it will be a write off based on the description of the damage i gave . Only option now is to be at the car when the estimator takes a look at it and beg him not to make it a write off..

ICBC looked at my car and it's a write off due to radiator support damage, and suspension damage to the passanger side. ICBC can take the car and give me money, but I can't buy it back since I'm not a licensed auto body tech. I can drop the claim and keep my car, but then the city of saanich will come after me for repair costs that was done to the bus stop and pole.
And here I thought 2009 couldn't be any worse of a year....

But the police report still says I was the one driving the vehicle, so if I take the money, my insurance rates will go through the roof... Man, I can't believe how unfortunate this is going!

can the police prove you were driving the car? if not fight their bullshat statement. dont let them get away with lying.
if they wont fix it, find the officer's name that wrote the report and file a complaint against him.

Yes you certainly can. Please do not be fooled
You cant buy other car's from auction, however, you most certainly have the right to buy your own car back

supguyex was rear ended a month ago or so, and they totaled it. He got 9 thousand and some odd for the car, but for 1500 they let him buy the entire thing back. He is now parting it out

They will let you once they realize their jigg is up. Tell them your friend just bought his car back and they are not being consistent, so stop messing around.

Jon (supguyex) bought his car back.

People do it all the time.

Don't let ICBC dupe you into thinking you can't buy it back. you can.

i gotta say im abit of a drinker myself. been known to get seriously plastered but no matter how bad ive ever gotten........ something like getting into your car, crashing it and running from the scene isnt something u just forget easily. The things u forget are things like getting with that girl u probably shouldnt have or telling your mate hed be a top chick........ not sumthing like this. It all sounds very strange to me.

dont u love how police and insruance feed you lies about your rights. remember insurance is trying to get every dollar they can from u. they are the biggest scam artists in the business world.

do not settle until you insist on buying it back. the rule is if the salvage value of the vehicle is over 2000 you cant buy it back, it wont go for over 2000 so tell them you are buying it back for parts, if they say no then say your not settling until you can talk to someone who will let you buy your car back, they say you cant until you call them on it. and if its rhd 98% of the time its a write off. icbc are pricks like that.

ICBC has been making no effort to help me out here. I have called them a few times and It's the same story every time: "We're not continuing with the investigation until the officer has called us back". I'm getting a little frustrated, but i guess this is what ICBC does, so ill deal with it.

In completely different news, I'm starting to contemplate finding another 91 GTS-t from BC (So I don't have to go through the inspection hassle) thats a rolling chassis, or a car with a little bit of body damage on the driver side and is missing some interior bits and a blown engine and just swap all my stuff over...
Any one in victoria know where I can score a night job that pays $12+? haha
