There's nothing wrong with 11to1 AFR other than you are leaving a bit of HP on the table. As long as your a$$ isn't getting all black with soot it's all good. You are only running that at full blow anyway and spend most of your time at a cleaner 13 to 15 to1 and that will clean things out.

If you have a Husky or a Mohawk in your area, run that, the Ethanol will keep things really clean. My ceramics on my plugs were white as a ghost last time I pulled them (no spots from melting pistons either...LOL) attesting to the cleaning action of alcohol (that also makes reading plugs virtually impossible). Water/Meth will clean stuff up really well too.

The Ethanol in the H/M fuel is why I can get away with 12to1 AFR at 1.2 bar, if I was running say, Cheveron or Shell, I would be dropping it down to mid to low 11's like yours. The HUGE intercooler and the fact that the T88 is just getting warmed up is another reason my IAT's are nice and cool which helps a bunch.

maybe. it is stock rb26, stock cams, stock intercooler, pump gas (93) , no meth or water injection. what do you think?

When are you getting 14psi? Even on a very low reading dyno that seems low. My car has all the extras so its hard to compare directly with a stock head/cam/intercooler car. Have you compression tested or leak down tested the motor?

Search user name "dre", he had a 4088r. He had a stock head, not sure about the intercooler.

Hks_gtr also had a gt4088r car and he was making 450ish on 25psi. He is on an extremely conservative tune and a very low reading dyno.

You should search and see what they are making.

Seems like a lot of people run 40r's but there isn't a lot of results to look at.

Wow! I'm feeling inadequate in the horsepower and torque department! (My peak torque is actually only about 430 ft.lb) I've actually been running with about 1 psi less boost than I tuned at because I'm still not doing individual cylinder knock control and wanted to reduce the chance of having my engine end the season prematurely.

But tell ya what, I'll stick with my tune and work on suspension and the elusive driver mod until someone beats me on the circuit. (Yes, that's an open invite - ok, challenge, to everyone to get out to the P1 HPDE series next year!)

                Cheers!

I'm coming for you GTR-Dad. I just have to get the car to complete a complete session without having little problems. Can't wait to get the car sorted and actually be competative.

What was your final hl output Dan ? Cam said you beat me by 5 or 10 hp but I had more torque ? Funny such minor details alter the entire power curve. So have you the fastest r32 Gtr at the track you race at ? What are you running for a oil pump and oiling mods ? Cooler extended sump ? Accu-sump ? What are your guys thoughts on the accusump I think I might add one

If I recall right, Dan was running a well built setup without going nucking futs considering how well he does in the track. All the fancy oiling, fueling, intake, exhaust mods bring more peace of mind with some minor power gains. Look at the Mine's car. Nearly stock looking

What's the P1 HPDE series?? Could I take an RB26 powered 240sx? Just gotta mount some 12 inch rubbers lol.

As for tuning Jeff, you say you run 10.9 AFR, from what I've read about the best tuners out there is that the best tunes have NO black smoke and run very close to stoic. They run super sharp tunes with overboost overfueling, not when at WOT. Sadly, I can't recall where I seen that but I do recall Daryl said that once about some tuners in Japan. Anyways, just gotta find a confident tuner that will get you that cleaner tune.

Nismo-stune thanks for the input , I have maybe had my car at wot 1 or 2 times is scares the **** out of me plus I don't like to abuse it. In saying that I can't be 100 percent sure where my a/f ratios are because I'm trying to watch the road haha but I know the are very low 11's and prob touch 10.9. What range do you recommend my a/f's should be in at wot ? I have read numerous articles on where a/f's should be but everyone has there own opinion so I always finish the article just as confused. My car let's out the tiniest bit of black smoke upon initial wot but then clears up ,after that's it's white tire smoke from all 4 corners

I heard Stratotech will run under current ownership for another season. Dunno 'bout the art gallery!
Best official time on Direzza Star Specs is 64.1 seconds.
For a tight track like this one, power without control is worse than nothing. My tires were DONE at the end of the season and it was wild to feel the change in vehicle dynamics. Corner exit would prbly have been easier and more consistent with less power.

525 AWHP @ 7500 rpm and 430 ft.lbs. Power was still climbing at 7500. I'm running a Nismo pump with a Tomei sump baffle. Accusump is useful to get oil pressure earlier at startup, but IMO it'd be a waste for trying to supply oil during intervals where the oil pump pickup isn't picking up any oil. You'd need a very large accumulator to cover even half a second.

The old grey Skyline carried me to an overall points win in the high perf street tire class and there were few cars with race tires that could keep up. Check out www.straightpipe.ca to get a flavor for what all was on the track. (everything from stock civics to Cayman S's, S2ks, and vettes ranging up to ZR1 spec.)

Regarding AFR, choose who you trust based on what you care about. Good quote- 'there's another 50 hp in that engine. Let's leave it there, and keep reliability intact.'

The knock counts are still under 40 and I have twin Tomei pumps in my tank (which are to be replaced with an A1000 and a swirl pot next year) that combined are supposed to be good to 900HP so it should be good. Maybe not but that will be addressed soon (I have all the parts except a stock pump to replace the twins).

At any rate, she has the Mambo to run low 10's for sure, I just need to spend about $10k on stuff to do it more than once.......LOL.

Pretty impressive sounding car for sure. I didn't take into account the fact that I am sure you are using a rising rate regulator. If you are at 87% duty cycle you one of a few problems because at base FP no rising rate reg you are using enough fuel for 995 hp. Couple things you can check low voltage getting to injectors, too low base FP, but probably more so too small of line going to the rail. Although I agree if you have the AFR you desire who cares what the duty cycle is. My only point is it shows a problem to come. I have built Swirl pot setups but if you can meet your needs with factory fuel systems you will save yourself a world of hurt. My suggestion would be to try and increase line diameter or run two fuelines one to the front and rear of the fuel rail and regulate of the middle port. Also pay close attention to having a large enough return line after or you may get a situation of uncontrolable fuel pressure.
