  • Bought or built. id love to see the car run In Canada. That age old debate. I bought my car with 80% of the items on it that are on it right now. So did I build it or Buy it. Now the question is at what point does that question stop gettting asked. Have I disassembled everything except the rear subframe yes. So did I build it or by it. That question gets old fast.

Its his car, Its here in Canada andhe has the stones to daily drive a 9sec GTR. Thats pretty cool in my books. Plus Now I have a new benchmark for Super-Dudes RB30 build.
    You can't fix stupid.

I agree with Speed though...whether he built it or not, it's awesome that he has a 9 second car. Looking at the title of this thread...it says "fastest GTR in Canada"...from a literary sense that means the fastest GTR physically in Canada. Maybe it hasn't run the times in Canada yet, but it should still be capable of putting up a similar time (it's at least one of the fastest). Perhaps it'd be more favorable if he had built it himself, but I don't think that matters here.

My car is going to be setup as a track car and will be running true street tires though (re11's) I doubt I will come close to trapping at 150 or running in the 9's. I will try though.

First we need time to finish the car.

Where can we see what's all into this beast? Wouldn't mind seeing what the better builds look like in the process. As for RE11s, you're gonna fall in love my friend.

            • I ran the re11's last year and loved them. Ive tried rt615's and kuhmo xs's and the re11s are my favorite. And they last considerably longer.

My car is in Edmonton right now and my engine and other stuff is in speeddm's garage in grande prairie. We are gonna get the car to GP next sunday and start the major work. Speeddm has had the rb30 for a bit and modified it accept the hioctane engine brace/4wd adapter. Engine needs to be reassebled, pull old engine, insert dry sumped rb30. Easier said than done.

I will be making either a build thread or a facebook page for the car once we start.

Im hoping to be on the dyno mid may. Depends on how much time we can set aside for the car.

May I suggest a build thread title? Yes? OK!

When 570 horsepower is just not enough...

                • lol, I missed this thread. I went 11.52@116 with it nearly stock, I'm doubling the horsepower and taking 200lbs out of the car this year, so it should be considerably faster. 9's? Maybe. My build is more circuit oriented but it will be making the ponies so it ought to run respectable times on the track. 700+ horsepower and 2800lbs has gotta work out to be fast somehow.

I don't really care if I've got the "fastest" or "highest whp" gtr in canada, I mostly care about leaving the local competition behind my taillights.

                      • R32 GTS-4 with stroked RB20DET runs a 9.883 with roughly 653ps. Average it runs is somewhere around 10.01.

I noticed R32 GTR needs at least up to 740awhp to run a high 10sec on street tyres (10.86 @ 209kph) and that's on a bumpy dragstrip which is less than ideal. On decent dragstrip that's prepped properly it probably would break axles, etc.

With dialing in of rear end (reducing camber on rear when rear squats for bigger contact patch with tyres), using good dragslicks, holding onto gear to keep engine at peak hp instead of changing up before 1/4 mile, playing with torque split for more rearward bias (more hp to ground), good + prepped dragstrip, high 9sec should be possible.

                          • So if you were to put a 600-700 hp motor in a gts4 I wonder what times it would put down? Interested to find that out. They are pretty light cars and would haul some serious ass with that kind of power in it!
Miss driving sooooo bad! Need to get a car on the road ASAP!

Depends on the dyno, if the dyno was stingy then 480whp in a 3000lb car driven like it was stolen with a bang-on chassis setup is more than enough to run 9's.

I've seen mustang dynos rob people of up to 200fwhp because the setup was total bs, or they were trying to lowball the initial pulls because "they wanted to improve on the tune", do practically nothing and presto, look we "found" another 100hp.

If you are trapping at anywhere near 140mph in the 1/4, you can run 9's. UNFORTUNATELY "CAPABLE" OF RUNNING 9'S AND ACTUALLY DOING IT ARE TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORIES.

Btw, i have the rh9 stickers on my car too, i know it can run 9's.......but, the sticker can only be applied to cars that were built in a shop that is part of the rh9 club, meaning that they have campained a 9sec car, not that your particular car can run 9's.

Bnr321991, what turbo kit does your car have?

                              • You can't say for sure it isn't a 9 second car. If he bought the car with a large single and it was conservatively tuned here in canada for pump gas at 478whp on a very low reading dyno, then, maybe. for all we know it is a gutted car and in japan with the boost turned up on race gas it was making 800whp and running mid nines.

                                Probably not the case though...
