I was waiting for a thread like this my skyline is an 89 it only has 78,000 k on the odo but it purrs like a kitten. I heard the nickel content is higher ( not sure if it's a reliable source)
So with the 93+ is the oil pump different? Or the actual crank collar problem of being a wee bit small. I was under the impression you needed to go r33 or r34 crank to solve this problem? Also not sure if this is best suited for this topic but I can hear a bit of turbo shuffle when I let off is this normal in a 100% factory gtr? (1989 of course) and I just need a better intake and or a baffled collector pipe?
They corrected the crank collar issue with the 93/94+ models. It's also fixable on 92 and below models by having an aftermarket collar popped onto your crank that fits better.

Thank you...I was hoping it would be late 92' but according to the one thread that was posted up stated after 91' models the oil pump problem was solved.
I'm going to be looking at it again this Sunday, but when I'm looking at all the gauges what should they be at while idling as well as if I drive/rev the engine up? Also I have tried doing as much re search to find what to look for but can't really find anything.
I'll check the basics, ie bearings, suspension, brakes etc as for engine I'll do a compression test and I think it should be around 150-170? Or am I wrong.. But as for the turbos is there a way I can check to make sure there good? A buddy of mine bought a Gtr a year ago and not long after his turbos blew... I don't want to run into any issues..
Also if anyone in GTA area is free sometime and wouldn't mind coming to look at it to assure it's good, I would be willing to buy coffee or what ever or even pay 100$ if you know your stuff. 100$ now to save 1000$'s later is fine with me..

Can always go with the N1 or a Jun pump if you're a little bit nervous. But just stay off the rev limiter and it shouldn't be too much of an issue
