Tomei Type A poncam. I didn't want emissions issues. If this was a strict track car I would have went with shims and a 10.5MM lift with a 270+ duration haha.
You think the extra exhaust duration of the type B cams will make that much of a difference with the emissions ?
If I remember correctly Tomei recommends the type B for use with the -5s turbos.
I'm in the process of choosing cams for my build and I don't really know which one to go for...
No the type a,b are not much different. I said if I wasn't worried about emissions I would have went with a 10.5mm lift and a 280 duration. Now that WOULD make a big impact on emissions :P.

like 5 years ago there was i think 11 or 12 aircare buildings in the greater vancouver area.....i believe that its cut down to like 5 or so....I was told by a aircare examiner that they've been phasing it out for a while
I hope you didn't just throw those turbos on the stock exhaust manifolds.......
Get some aftermarket or N1 pieces.
The OEM mani are pretty good once you port/clean the up. They're cast so they won't crack like tubular units. If your not going crazy on developing the head with camshaft overlaps and late closings the oem units are ok. If you are going to go nuts on the head then you'll need a very good flowing exhaust and intake, which means no oem stuff. I've been reading alot lately. turbo mag has it's part 3 for camshaft shootout this month.. I missed part 2 though :hit_head:
No build thread.

I have the Nismo manifolds, the ports are a lot bigger than the stock manifolds, it's pretty obvious when you put them side by side. Not only are the ports bigger, there's a lot more meat in the casting as the larger size carries all the way through the runners - a port matched stock manifold still isn't close.
They match up perfectly with my Nismo turbos right out of the box which are pretty similar to the Garrett or HKS2530's.
