                • Finally an "update" reason for quotation is that it isnt much.

tonight is the first time ive worked on this car in quite a while. also ordered a bunch of parts for it for a healthy update next week.ish.

been working on this thing lately.

had to do accord headlights and a different front bumper for the upcoming oop.
this will be my all year daily. its awd. should be decent in the snow.

now i got a couple things a week or 2 ago.

first i got a suede e brake boot. looks and feels awesome. (suede shift boot i got last year)

also got a teal bubble shift knob. (had to hold it. trans obviously isnt there)

got a couple stickers. couldnt resist putting em on.

now i started to actually work tonight.

took off the front cover and painted the cam gear flat black.

also took these off and painted em flat black aswell

now to start taking everything off to get at the timing belt. good ol impact

now you dont take the bolt all the way out as you need to use it to pull the front pulley off.

had this puller from doing a diff in a gm. all i have to do is drill 2 holes the width of the bolt holes on the pulley.

                  just like so.

                  off. nbd.

everything off and new belt placed on.

how to properly install and align a timing belt.

put the engine at tdc BEFORE taking old one off.
once off slip the new one on and make sure everything is aligned as shown below:

tensioned and now can start putting it back together.

                  bottom cover and pulley on

done. (reason why top cover isnt on will be explained next update)

                      • finally an update. for any of you that have me on facebook you will know i bought that black mark II and got it running. ive been working on it alot getting it ready to sell. alot of previous owner mistakes to fix.

                        anyways on to my skyline.

following last update i had put on the timing and prepped everything. well. for this.

                        clear timing cover

both ma motors. 1j is in the mark 2 now.

received my gold heat reflect stuff. put it all over the firewall.

also received all my fuel line fittings. this car has twin fuel pumps and fuel lines.

assembled like this. twin in. single -6 out. filter can handle 900lph. should be fine

now for actual work. my buddy is here from calgary and we got some work done. hopefully motor in this week too.

finally its only my gtr in the garage. can fianlly move around. well a bit better anyway.

wheels off. time for this subframe to come out

                        just like so.

new one ready to go in.

                        picture explains itself

subframe up. what a pain. aluminum bushings have zero play. i guess thats a good thing. doesnt make it easy to install.

had to turn the (washers?) upside down in order to tighten the bolts. this probably raised the subframe a whole inch.

similar thing needed on the front

wheels on. purdy lug nuts on

sorry for lack of detail. its all about the pictures anyway.

                            • another update. shits getting done.

how the fuel lines work out

before motor goes in i gotta get rid of these brutal power steering lines. they are bent and twisted in every way.

i saved my old subframe. still has all the lines on it. if you want something from the subframe lemme know.

hood off ready to go in.

                              and roughly 15mins later

oil cooler mounted lower (to clear hood latch)

had to shorten my fuel feed and this time i get to use a proper fitting

mounted like so. im not a fan of where it is but oh well.

rad hoses and such on. i loe golllllldddddddd. (goldmember quote)

                              getting better

intercooler piping has to be changed now. i moved the intercooler closer to clear the gtr bumper

most of the **** put on. i only have a couple things left.

just waiting on my kit now. i have everything else. hurry up mr. c-unit.
