    Just checked out that rips throttle body...looks pretty legit and yeah that is a good price. Have you seen or heard anything about them?

    • Well this winter I've been slowly stock piling parts to rebuild the old girl. All I need now is a set of rod and main bearings, alternator and power steering belt, new radiator, little bit of machining and assemble the new bottom end. I'm kind of in the air of doing the head also at the same time but if I do that then it may not be ready until mid-end of summer which would suck. May get the supertech valve train and do a mild port and polish. Cams are unknown in this car so I will have to look at what they are when the engine is out.

      The car is up on jack stands in the garage and Ive been doing quite a bit of work on it. Full preparation for the motor to come out. I can tell you that removing the axels has been the biggest pain so far. Found out I also have a blown passenger side cv boot aswell. Also whenever you guys put your driveshaft back to the transmission, never ever use red loc-tite as it is a complete whore to break. All thats left is the cross member and few more electrical plugs and couple hoses and shes ready to come out. Hopefully I can get it out in my garage with the picker. Its going to be close! More updates to come very soon with pictures.


      I know nothing is good without pictures so realistically this post I just wrote is worthless.

            • Red loctite is fine (the 262) if you use the recommended amount....one drop. People tend to hose the stuff on like it's anti-seeze. Even when you hose on the blue stuff (the 242) you can run into issues. I red loctite everything of importance, makes me sleep better.

              Wish I had more time these days to do a big project, I miss the skinned knuckles, grease and the smell of low-odor solvent......sigh.

              • I will be using the blue loc-tite on most of the reassembly. I had to use a huge breaker bar and a propane torch to heat it up before i cracked them all loose. A hoist would really come in handy right now instead of laying down on cold concrete.

                • I used blue locktite on rotation shafts as I've had some back out.

                  As for the head, valves don't just cost money to buy, also costs money to machine in. Stock valves have been fine up to 800hp so unless you have a sick build, leave them alone but still do springs, guides and port! Save $1000-1500 (depending on labour)


                  As for engine, 2ZJ has always been a better engine (stronger in stock form, more torque) but you own a nissan so either sell that whole car and buy a supra for 800whp or build up that 26!

                    • Been slowly picking away at the car. Motor and transmission are out and torn down. I was hoping for some decent cams but they look stock I still need to buy an engine stand and take my oil pain off and see what crank is in there. Its probably stock crank. I had bought a machined 05U block but then I realized I have an N1 block so i will get that machined instead. So if anybody wants a freshly machined block bored to 87mm let me know lol.

                      I've taken out the ABS, AC, and the HICAS. Frees up so much room in the engine bay and gets rid of quite a bit of weight. I will be stripping the entire bay in the next few months and painting it. Not sure of the color combos I want to go with yet so I'm waiting until I figure that out.

                      Seeing as how I have stock cams im going to be buying some much bigger ones and fully build the head aswell. My turbo and manifold are going up for sale so I'm going to get something different. Want something more responsive. The dinosaur T88 is a great turbo but little too much lag for my liking. Great drag turbo tho because your always at high rpms.

                              • I change my mind everyday about this car haha. In its current state its depressing cuz its all torn apart. But the outcome I know will be so worth it in the end. Takes forever but you know at the end you can truely say that its worth the wait.

                                Still deciding what color I should do my engine bay. Everything is stripped and will start the sanding and primer any day just need some motivation lol.
