My New Project - BNR32 GTR..... Slightly Bent.. In Newfoundland
This is the first time I have read about a skyline in NL, lol. I just moved from the rock to NS to start my career. When I'm out around the westcoast next time I go home I'll have too keep a look out!
Now everyone has to keep in mind that this car was bought for a song, then straightened and painted by a good friend in his bodyshop. No other person would have got that deal, he just knows that people will ask about the car, and I will tell them Brian's Autobody, this is the second car he has painted for me, the Honda went on to take best of show a pile of times. I hope the Skyline will do the same. In my experience, people want to pay for good work, and good work is hard to find in NL.
The tires I'm looking at are Nitto's or Falken. Not sure on the exact type, just something with a good treadwear rating and great wet performance. I drive across the island alot, and I get caught in the rain alot.... Might even look at Federal Tires to, but I have never used them.
I'm more so concentrating on researching my Turbo setup lately, mainly the turbo's to go with. I like the Garrett GT2871R -10 's (800+) or Garrett GT2860R -7 's. Then some Ebay Manifolds, I now cheap, but in the end they are just Tomei copies or OBX Manifolds. OBX Dumps or Equivilent. Any thoughts on these two particular turbo setup, Lag times, Mounting issues... ETC.
In the Charge Side, thinking Godspeed intercooler, with HKS Hardtubes or HKS/Greddy everything if the price is right. I like to look for deals, but some stuff you need to pay for... LOL.
Another Question, How do the BOV's connect to the Hardpiping, all the pics I have seen don't appear to have any ports. Do I need to weld on a connector or fitting?
Oh there are actually five skylines in NL, I own one, my good friend and landlord owns another(GTR), a Coworker owns one(GTR bought from Moncton, 10 sec car.) and a blue type M as well as a Black type M. I have heard of another on the Northern Pen with the front end beat off it, but no evidence has surfaced to make that truth. And a friend is looking to purchase a R33.... against my objections.... I'm hardcore R32...
dont get shitty ebay manifolds, if you're cheap, then just get the stock cast manifolds ported and polished, cheap ebay manifolds usually have fitment issues, and SS manifolds will crack over time, where as the stock cast iron ones wont.

To be honest, I'm not a Ebay fan either, I have always been a fan of cast manifolds if they flow good, my first turbo motor in the honda employed a premative cast piece(Drag I think... It has been forever), never ever had a issue. So is there any particular machine shop for getting my stocker's ported and coated. I know there isn't anywhere in NL. The only machine shop worth a dime here only deals with Domestic 350... etc.
Another thought, The Tomei Expreme Manifolds($899) Stainless Steel VS Stock Ported and Coated Manifolds......... Aside from price, One would think the stock manifoilds with a quality port job will flow the same or close as the tomei's. And the Cast Material should retain more heat(more exhaust energy). But Correct me if I'm wrong. So why go with the Tomei's. Aside from Looks
Hi Everyone, It has been a while since I have updated, and to be honest, I haven't done much but buy parts and work. And such is life. Plus the Girlfriend is starting to ask questions like when are you going to be done with the car, I want to go on a trip..... LOL. So on to my update, mostly just parts.....
My Wheels
The Parts Shrine: FRP Front Under Diffuser, Manifolds, Dumps, 3.5" Stainless exhaust, AEM Tru Boost, Wideband, and Oil Pressure, and Meth Injection. Bee R Limiter, New Emblems for the outside, New R34 Valve Cover Plate. The Carbon JUN Lip and Rear Diffuser are shipped, thanks to C-Unit's Group buy.
Welded up the Greddy Extended sump on Rodney's Targa Car
Installed the Motor in the Targa car as well.

Old Motor Trouble.....
In with the New
So thats about it for this update, but I hope to get the car out of storage in Mid-March, so there will be a huge update then, when I start to put all the parts on the car.
I just hauled the GTR out of her winter cave, started first click of the key. Brought her home on car carrier, as she needs a wheel alignment. Now that she is in the garage the work starts...... Tonight I put in the Veilside gauges and the AEM Truboost, UEGO, and Oil pressure in the dash. I took a couple of pics, I really should of took more of the work done to fit the gauges in nicely, I could have forced them to fit, but with alittle trimming they fit perfect.
Tomorrow, I'll get at the sensors and Meth Injection.
