Just curious, are you torquing Your cam caps wet or dry for the 7 nm? I broke a Tomei cam cap studs in the past at 8 ft pounds because i was torquing with lubricant. I guess it clearly states in the jap manual that it's the dry torque which is much less than the equal wet torque. Thinking you simply over torqued them?

I think titanium valve retainer is a sales ploy....
If you call Supertech tech support and ask if their titanium retainer sacrifice longevity for strength, they will say yes. In fact they recommend you to check the titanium retainer every 20k, or the ti retainers will gall on the steel valve keeper and bad stuff happens....
Since supertech produces parts for Tomei I dont think manley can make them any better....
I think OEM steel retainer with a set of afternarket springs is the best for you to match your poncam B.

I agree, its snake oil, but its already installed and shimmed snake oil at this point so.....lol
This being said, if i was running a 2000hp high revving monster they would likely hold up to super high lift cams and stuff much better. Its like most companies sell stuff no one needs to make moderate power, like billet adjustable cam gears, and every arp bolt in the engine. As much as I think head studs are a good idea, i doubt that anyone really needs arp valve cover bolts ya know...

My point is:
ARP valve cover bolt is expensive, over-engineered, and unnecessary, but it has no downside. It will never ever cause you problems or blow up your engine.
On ther other hand, Ti-retainer will cause you big problems. Let say you do oil change every 5k kilo. After 4 oil change, the ti-retainers is ready to fail or may be failing. WTF? I need to rip the head out to check the retainers every 4 oil changes? F-u-c-k that.
If you check tomei website, their Type A spring is compatible with Oem retainers and support up to 10.80mm lift at probably 8000rpm. It will not fail and require no maintenance.
FYI:

So while im waiting on supertec to invoice me due to the holiday season, Ive been helping my roommate prep his 2jz for a full build such as mine. While chillin in the garage tonight, he told me we wasn't happy with my port and polish job at all lol ( he is a machine polisher and owns a business doing it ), so i told him if he didnt like it, to fix it. To my surprise he did lol. here some progress pics with the finished product at the end.

So while I wait for parts again, I decided to polish my intake manifold, after watching my roommate do his. If I didnt mention it before, hes a machine polisher and does fantastic work! Hes been polishing his intake manifold runners while he waits, and convinced me to do mine, since it will look good with my valve covers.
The pics are only sanded, as this IM was painted black before. HOLY **** THE CASTING IS DEEP!
