Beautiful car! What did you do to get your engine bay from "typical" to WOW!

Someone mentioned to me to wash the engine bay down with WD40?!

Never heard of the WD40 this..hmm
I used an engine shampoo from ACDelco
works better than any other stuff I've ever used before.
Then I use an engine dressing let it soak in then wipe off the excess
We buy this all our stuff from Redstallion which supplies to dealers it works to rejuvinate rubber.
      Last along time too.
Its kinda like the clear Simonize Tire dressing but not as thick.

Very nice indeed. If you decide to get new rims, go for polished finish.

Speedfreak, you're running a GT42R on a stock engine with stock displacement? You must be a whiz at tuning!

Out of curiosity, when does it come on, and how high are you revving to?

              Dr. GTR
Tuning was always something I hadn't got to do much of but most of my carrer in the automotive trade has been in engine management related dept aswell as the grunt work.So tuning my own car was my way of testing my own knowledge as a Tech
As long as you have the right tools to read whats going on the PFC is a very user friendly standalone.
I know that I pushed the limits of some of the key weak spots in the RB26
cause when I took the engine apart for this build items like the headgasket showed fatigue in the fire ring-coolant passage areas.
So those wise old men who say that there are known limits to certain parts of our engines Definately are Wise old Men.
I think the stock internals could go even further if bolts/bearings were changed up.
I'm not going to stroke the motor as I like the over bore design for RPM HP like Mines's does.
I am going to 87mm bore for some displacement increase.

Felix your gonna be my source for VTTR's for sure!
can you tell me if the 330mm setup or 350mm setup will clear the rims on my car? Do you have a printable template to download for checking this?

Well, it's definitely a testament to your tuning ability that the car is running so well. Kudos!

Again, for my own curiosity, roughly when are you experiencing the turbo coming on, and when do you hit full boost? Is 8000 RPM still the limit for now? The reason I ask is that I wouldn't mind a single (obviously nothing in the league of the GT42R), so I'd like to hear how the biggest of the big ball bearings do with stock displacement.

Boost starts at 4200 rpm & is full at 4800rpm
I set my PFC redline to 8000 and no issues but it still made me nervouse to take an unbuilt motor beyond 7500.
plus the oil pump issue was always on my mind so hence the reason I didn't just continue to drive the car for too long, plus it allowed me to have and already tuned ecu for when it gets reassembled
I actually considered modifing the down pipe so I can swap a GT40 or 4088r on with a lower turbine A/R for road coarse use.
we'll see how it responds next year before I do that!

Please give your answer in the form of a question.
If you talk'n fuel it was tuned with 94octane

Really nice build. looking forward to updates.

did you use fc-datalogit, if so did you have any problems getting your wideband to interface with the AN inputs on the datalogit. I cant wait to get mine on the dyno its the part I am really looking forward to doing.
