My car: Its a 1989 Skyline, which when i first got it in march of 2006, it was fairly stock. It only had Tein coilovers, 3 1/2" exhaust, and a cone filter. Unfortunatly approx. 1 month after i purchased it, i had a accident. While i was on a local highway i was passing a semi-truck at low speeds (70km/h), and at the time it was raining and the truck splashed water on my windshield and right after the wipers got ride of it, i saw a huge puddle and there wasnt much i could do. I hit the puddle at 70km/h and headed into a ditch. There was alot of damaga but repairable. There was damage to the front bumper, rear bumper was ripped off as well as the exhaust, both front quater panels were dented, and a large dent in the rear left quater panel, as well i punctured a whole in the gas tank. Also the front left tie rod and control here destroyed. All in all there was about $5000.00 - $6000.00 in damages.
Well after dealing with the local insurance agencies and repair shops, it was determined that the insurance wasnt going to cover me. So i found a way to get $5000.00 and fixed the car my self with the help of a buddy and some really good guys at a local body shop. They were about to get new fenders, pull out the rear dents and fixed both bumpers. So for $4000.00 they did all that work plus give me a full paint job (black pearl). While the car was on the hoist and up myself and a buddy did the other work. We replaced the gas tank, as well as the front control arm and tie rod, and repaired the exhaust work.
So after about a month and half the car was back on the road and on a path of fun driving and competitions. Of course while the car was on the hoist i didnt go cheap. We upgraded alot of parts while it was there. I headed up putting in new Nismo tension rods, full 3 1/2" exhaust with HKS downpipe, as well as new multi-spoke rims (17" x 9.5" rears, 17" x 8.5" in the front).
A few later i started to save and upgrading more engine parts. All work was done by myself with the help of a great friend who just happens to be one of the best tuning specialist in the local area.
The upgrades were a full front mount intercooler and piping with Greddy type-RS Blow off valve. T3, 60 trim turbo, walboro 255 fuel pump. Also added a Apex'i electronic boost controller and Apex'i VGTT (voice guide turbo timer). And thats all i can think of right now.
My future mods are: Full Rb25DET swap, stock internals with a large turbo (undecided yet), and well lets just say the works. When i am done i will hopefully be putting around 500-550 to the rear wheels.
