Anything over 20psi on RB20, RB25, RB26 (turbo size changes the boost level it happens at) can result in engine failure with stock bottomend (cracked block, cracked ringlands, etc). I think it's due to heat in cylinders vs coolant temp (ECU tune plays a role in this) can cause block to crack (similar to running cold water through a hot block that cracks block, etc) and ringlands is due to pistons expanding and hitting cylinder walls (pistons getting to hot) and knock might play a role.
If run engine on E85 (cooler temps in cylinders, higher resistance to knock) engine can handle another 50hp-100hp or so without failure at same boost level.
Also stock cast pistons are cooled by oil (oil squirters at bottom of cylinders), so lower oiltemps can result in lower piston temps, increased reliability. Cooling systems on a engine is oil, coolant.
Usually above 20psi you fit forged pistons (slower to expand and bigger clearances) and run on higher octane gas (E85, C16, etc).RESPONSE MONSTER
The most epic signature ever "epic".

Ya a little bit of a set back. Couldn't do a full tune due to me completely forgetting k had a rising rate fuel reg in the car. So I have to get rid of that and get in a regular fuel reg. And fix them knock sensors. (Was hoping he would tune around them but highly recommended he not)
:-( bit of a shame and a disappointment but I'll be back on shortly with all the issues fixed.

Didn't spend that much so.
I could have had them do a full tune but that would have been a waste has I would have had to go back when the fpr and knock sensors are fixed. So tuning twice.

ok well a little update...
About a month ago i was in a minor rear ender. my front bumper cracked pretty good and bend the re-bar back about 1/2 an inch. So when i got home i took the bumper off and fixed the cracked before it would get any worse... i went all drfito style (since i drift ) and did a zip tie cross stitch. I think it looks awesome and gives the car a bit more character.
No damages to the other car of course... not even a spec of paint left on her car... oh well...
haven't done much really engine wise etc except some small things here and there...
Cleaned up the bay a bit with some fresh paint etc
Installed a brake master stopper. cleaned up the engine bay a bit.
I did end up getting a new FPR and installed that before going for that midnight tune (which is still running perfectly) Just need to play with the tip in and shift points as i am running rich in those sections of the map. Slowly but surely tuning them out.
As some of you may have seen, i did a little interior work the other week. Pulled out some old auto-meter gauges and installed some ProSport Gauges. I love them. look great, work awesome!
And while i was at it, installed a BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet in the center console for some entertainment, and navigation. I found it to be a better solutions then some double din decks out there. A decent double din deck would have cost me 400-600 easily, not including navigation. Well the playbook cost me $60 and fits perfectly in there. Had to so some custom mounts etc and mess with some wiring, like modifying the charger cable and the 3.5 cable to bend them and make them fit in the tight area. But overall it worked out great and haven't had a single issue as of yet.
Then a couple nights ago i picked up a GTR grill (finally) as i have been wanting one for a while now... just like the look a lot better then GTS-t look. tho i do like both. i find the GTR grill a bit more aggressive looking.
So instead of getting a new gtr hood (which i am still in the market for) i decide to take a stab at cutting the gtst hood. I took a template of nimblestixs hood, and transferred it to my hood, marked the line, and started cutting with a zip cut.... was a bit sketchy at first but i think it turned out not to bad... the paint along the cut line started to heat up and melt a bit and started to peel away from the metal. But some paint and such will fix that. *HA! now my car really goes look like my avatar*

After:
Just a shot of Nick, Brent and my cars after mission last week. Only Nick ran that night.
That's all for now. Will keep this updated as much as i can!
