clocked the turbo today and hit it with a wire wheel.. came out alright, hopefully i can controll boost on this thing.
takin the car off the road for a week or 2 while i get it in and im also going to attempt at making my own 4'' downpipe, preferably using the holsets stock elbow, but its not lookin to promising.

turbo bolted strait up to the stock mani no spacers needed or anything and the cast elbow fits! **** yeah !!
still need to figure out how oil it, im absolutely hooped so any input would be great

also i have to move power steering resovior and figure out how to attach the waste gate actuator

Stock oil lines work with it.

Interesting. Specs of the HE341 turbo seem to be close to a T3 60trim Garrett turbo. Would be interesting to see the rwhp difference between that turbo, hybrid stock RB20 turbo that has a slightly larger compressor wheel.

the stock oil line is restricted, bad news with journal bearing turbos, i went to Mopac today and got all -4AN fittings great guys to deal with!(people at lordco around here don't know anything, super frustrating) ,
yaa seems to be a pretty solid turbo, wont know untill i get it up and running though, i believe the he341 has the same specs as the hy35 just a different compressor cover and maybe a different exhaust housing.

this is going to flow sooooo much better than stock lol

downpipe made came out pretty good, luckily my dad knows his way around a welder
now i just gotta make a bracket for my wastegate actuator and finish my charge pipes and intake piping

um that reduction on your downpipe is going to cause restriction/back pressure aka power robbing.

yeah but its 4'' -3'' and its either a nice reduction like that or a sloppy weld to get down to 3'' to get through my test pipe then it bumps back up to 3.5 the rest of the way out

its still going to restrict you. what you should of done is fabbed up a 3.5" dp and extended it longer and got rid of your test pipe so the 3.5" downpipe mates up with your 3.5" cat back.

Yeah your right or I should have made up a new test pipe in 3.5 and made the dp in that aswell. Maybe in the future I can change it up.

great project! can't wait to see more pics!
the turbo lag is just the anticipation of the boost pressure

                          picture you say huuu

ghettto wastegate braket that we had to make ( im using the 10psi actuator from the stock turbo)

my array of couplers to make this sh*t work. i finally got them in from eBay today so i finished everything. i couldn't justify paying 40 dollars each at lordco so i had to wait a week and a bit for this to come in.
i tapped into the silicone elbow with some brass fittings from lordco for the pcv and bov recirculate. clamps on clamps on clamps its a cluster **** down there now. its defiantly not the prettiest but it works

also went for a quick rip down the road and its LOUD and laggy. i shifted at 4.5k ish (i think) so **** wouldnt blow up. l but my prof b spec had .9 bar in its memory so not looking too bad in terms of responsiveness. i might get a day permit tomorrow and drive it around nice and easy on the highway, not revving it past 4, to see how the boost builds just because im kind of worried about the boost control, our braket design and the wastegate port diameter is pretty small. So ill try and see what the minimum boost level is, then go from there.

thinking about buying a water/meth kit do ya think ill need it if im aiming for 350+whp ish?
anyone using it with a 20 wanna chime in?

                                big update comming soon

i just finished my external wastegate, i had to make an adapter between the manifold and turbo to accept it, i didnt like the idea of welding onto the cast manifold.
and while doing that i broke 5 exhaust studs so we got thoes out, somehow, and bought 12 brand new ones, now im just waiting on a new manifold gasket so i can bolt everything down and test the wastegate, hopefully theres no more boost creep..

so all thats left is injectors and z32 maf and nistune and they should be here within the next couple days!

i also installed a water/meth kit the other day hopefully that works out
                                *edit finished it today*

the kit i bought didnt come with a tank so this will do
