  • Engine fluid quantities?

Hope I'm not reposting anything here, but I searched here and SAU. I'm looking for all the amounts of fluids that the car needs.

So far this is what I'm planning on buying

    Brake fluid - Motul RBF600
Trans fluid - Redline Heavy Shockproof
Front diff - Castrol SAF-XA (weight?)
Rear diff - Castrol SAF-XA (weight?)
    Gearbox oil - Redline MT90
Transfer case - Nissan Matic D
P/S fluid - Nissan P/S fluid (dunno about part #)

If anyone has any info for how many liters of each I'll be needing, that would be great, as well as any other suggestions.

    Thanks guys
    Dave

The trany takes 4.1 litres of GL-4 75W90. I used Royal Purple.
    The front diff. takes 1 litre 0f GL-5 85W90. I couldn't find synthetic 85W90, so I put in Redline 75W90.
The rear diff. takes 1.5 litres of GL-5 LSD 80W90. I put in LSD 75W90 from Redline.
The transfer case holds 1.8 litres of Nissan automatic.

Not sure about the others you mentioned.

          Anyone heard of Amsoil?
I know a guy who is a dealer for them, its all synthetic, just wondering if anyone has had any real world experience with it, I know they use it in racing.

I use Swepco 201 for the LSD and tranny. This is used by a lot of the Porshe guys for racing applications.

I did some reading on SAU today.

The transfer case should take Dexron III auto tranny fluid.

The rear diff has to have the LSD additive gear oil, while the front diff takes just regular gear oil, but will have no problems with the LSD gear oil.

I find it very hard to believe that you would be required to add LSD additive to the rear diff but not the front. The two diffs perform exactly the same functions, so why would they have different requirements?

The only difference between the two is that (on the R32), the front is rarely engaged unless you are pushing it. For that reason, the rear takes more use and abuse.

Point noted. I was going to use the LSD oil regardless, since I have some extra sitting here from last week. 8)
