JDM now banned in Quebec for the next 180days!

I sent a email to the SAAQ. and the reply from the engineer was: I'm almost certain your car doesn't have ABS and stability control and in 2012 it will be manditory for cars coming in the province to have these systems... Also 15yo JDMs don't comply to 2009 standards of collision test... NO way? really? they're freaking 15 years olds...

WHATTTTTTTTTT?? what a load of BS....

I did mention that year for year our cars were alot safer then 10 yo cars.

he said: well the amount of cars that are over 10 is being auto eliminated because people get ride of them...

so all these new cars bring the average of old cars closer to 15...

sure NEW cars may require that in order to be registered, but our cars are FEDERALLY exempt from such conditions

well they're mentionning some BS excuse saying I didn't give them access to my file at the SAAQ (which I did and confirmed with my insurance broker last year) + new RHD regulations... now is it the SAAQ regulation or their in-house regulations, that i'm not sure... tomorrow I'll have to sort that **** out.

Sucks that this had to happen. I highly doubt it will happen farther west its just getting to be to big of a scene.

good luck with that man. A lot of companies here are starting to stop insuring JDMs, but from what I've heard nothing in terms of cancelling policies.

Well I just got off the phone with my broker, pafco is stopping to insure the car itself (theft, windows, vandalism etc...) but if you only have liability they'll insure you. Their new policies...

I guess everybody will receive that letter before their renewal if they have more then liability on their policies. this **** started because of the SAAQ.

Called yesterday my broker and my R32 is protected for collision/thief/fire etc....

And it's not a problem for them a R32.

I renewed my insurance 2 weeks ago and I had no problems. Fire/theft/collision/vandalism,the works. It even went down by 200$.
