Very well said Cdnleaf, a very accurate response. Realistically, dangers come with driving any vehicle, and in the end, the driver is in control of the outcome most of the time. (I say most because there's always external factors, drunks behind the wheel, etc)
With that said its rather unfair and somewhat degrading that we have something so cherishable to us and yet its made extremely difficult by others to enjoy that something,
How's this, what if RHD did get banned in Ontario? Would the insurance doors open then? The market is no longer affected, and there is only existing customers...1989 R32 GTS-t (Sold)

Do you guys really think the Insurance companies care about the North American auto industry? They are here to make money, whether RHDs are banned in Ontario or not it won't change a thing for them.
They rely on stats to decide who/what/where/at what cost they insure. That's it.R32 GTR FULL SERVICE MANUAL DOWNLOAD:

called and asked to check if intact can carry me
was informed that my record is grade 1 or something so it with be high
its cause of my single vehicle spin out in, which was with certas and i was covered
( accident forgiveness) but now that they dropped me ... its not forgiven
so i ask if the broker or intact has a right hand drive refusal policy , he says he doesnt know, but he tried to say no, cause its customized, i told him no its not , its just a japanese car.
so it is still rhd,.. yes
and we continued... so i waiting to see if intact has a rhd refusal policy in place
it may be high quote but i dont want facility...

btw if you modify your car to be LHD you still wont get coverage
a. because you still have 11 digit vin
b. because you customized/modified your car
so why dont we just switch to n/a vin and replate the car as a 240/or something and skirt the 11- digit vin issue with insurance companies
or would you then just be effed in the event of a claim?

Be it a Japanese sold LHD model vs the exact same car but North American sold (Nissan, Mitsubishi, etc), it won't change a thing. What they do not like however, is when it's RHD (because of risk increase stats) and hard to get parts for repairs (when the vehicle is not normally available for purchase in North America). If the vehicle is available for purchase in North America and you decide to import it because it's cheaper, they won't care because it's all the same to them. They won't go around and try not to insure you because "you didn't buy a North American sold vehicle and didn't stimulate our economy."R32 GTR FULL SERVICE MANUAL DOWNLOAD:

I wouldn't go as far to say there is a conspiracy, however the CADA has been railing against RHD for years, and are a very powerful entity. They could have a lot of pull with insurance companies, and who knows what is going on behind closed doors.
At the very least, the CADA is guilty of providing false or heavily biased information to the Canadian Government about RHD cars.RightDrive Inc. Parts Manager

What worries me is that everyone seems to be having an extremely difficult time insuring their stock Skylines with a clean driving record.
My car is really nowhere near stock, and I have two "15 over's" from 2009
I'm really not excited about facility1989 R32 GTS-t (Sold)

One other thing, I went on Facility's website and they explain a lot about them and that they suggest you shop elsewhere before coming to them, etc.
But, what I didn't find was that apparently you MUST be insured with them for a full year? And on top of that, you must pay the full amount up front or "finance" the amount?
Anyone with Facility?? Chime in?1989 R32 GTS-t (Sold)
