I just realized that last time I purged my coolant, I didn't open the nut on the exhaust side to drain the block. Maybe I still have oil in it because of the trapped coolant in the engine ??
What do you guys think is the easiest way to reach the drain plug under the rear turbo ? From over or under the car ?
I might still end up removing the turbos just to make sure everything is good. What do you think about reusing the exhaust manigold gasket and the misc washers ?
I don't want to spend too much on little things like that because like I said I'm going for a complete rebuild and upgrade anyway starting in August...
Thanks !1990 Nismo GtR #283

I just got through a turbo job on alex's GTR assassin. Your better off just getting two turbo's and swapping them completely. Make sure you dont loose any of the copper fittings. and buy the nissan gasket kit its like 150 bucks or so from ebay and it saves alot of time and hasle. We had to use gasket maker on alex's car so it has exaughst leaks X 10

All my needles are still reddish. How many 74 bulbs did you change ? I only changed 2, the ones that were glowing white in the bottom of the rpm and speed gauge. Do you have a gtr or a gts ?Originally posted by BurlyR32 View PostHow did you make the needles red? As far as I know mine are now blue from the LED glow.
On another subject: look what I just got:

Dyno results

Just to get a baseline before really starting the build:
Best high boost pull
I love my french accent...
And the results:
low boost (0.8 bar):

High boost (1 bar):

I'm pretty happy about it. A good healthy 350hp.1990 Nismo GtR #283

Sorry forgot to mention. Yup 1 bar. And I think these turbos are called the N1s. Not sure though. But they are steel not ceramic.Originally posted by Bern View Postwell I always knew that car was pushing 400 hp! At what boost was it pushing when it hit 350 to the wheels? 1 Bar?
I actually have another run where it pulled 354hp but torque was a little lower.1990 Nismo GtR #283

N1 block ? Awesome. I didn't even know about that one. I guess I'm gonna have to rethink my rb30 plan...Originally posted by JDM-IMPORTS View PostWow that's our old Nismo from several years back...

are you sure? I don't believe it's the N1 block. If the block says 24U, then you have an N1 block but I remember (I think it was my mechanic) someone telling me that this one didn't have itOriginally posted by JDM-IMPORTS View PostWow that's our old Nismo from several years back...
