car is leaking some coolant from unknown area...going to try to find the leak tomorrow. Its coming from somewhere under the plenum so I gotta jack it up to investigate! Hopefully just a pinhole in a hose.

Clutch is working awesome. Get chirps in 4th gear no problem haha

Its been a while since i've posted. No new updates to the car seeing as how im broke cuz my job sucks right now. But I did attend this years 2011 PACNW supra nationals and that was really fun. Received a couple awards as well for the Off topic categorie (non-supra). Highest hp and best off topic.

How much power did it put down?

lol only put down 430 on low boost. Still need money for new injectors rail fpr and a standalone ecu...

Watchout for insane winter build tho.....should I stroke it or no?

no! no point in spending close to 10k on a stroker kit. you can make the same power for half the money

Going to refresh the motor...stroker is outta the option looked into it and not worth it imo...

So in your guys opinion I would like to hear what it takes to get to the 700hp mark. I have the turbo for it now I dont know whats in the bottom end so i'm building it myself. Would like to start making a list of parts so I can have a very nice christmas for myself

haha i could put a very nice list together for you since i just did it about 15k later..
i went with a new r34 crank but not worth it imho i had to have a collar machined onto it anyway to match my pump so just a collar machined onto your crank,
pistons: weisco, je, or cp are the cheapest and best bang for the buck imo and will get you to 700 no problem.
rods: pretty important i orginally cheaped out on eagles but after more research i regretted my decision and upgraded to a set of tomei h beams. although if budget allows it i would go with carillos!
oil pump: simple i went with tomei worth every penny although jun is on the same level
harmonic balancer: should be a necessity in any big power build to keep everything balanced out.
trust sump extension: with a tomei or a jun oil pump it flows oil at a higher rate then stock so the 1.5 litre sump extension can accomidate the high flow.
gasket kits: i went with a tomei top end kit (its only like 40 bucks more then just the hg kit) i also bought a oem nissan gasket kit but not really worth it imo still got almost the whole thing left.
timing kit. i went with a tomei belt but stock is fine.
your turbo kit is already good you can flow a bit of air so no need to worry about that
for the head your going to want some decent cams to spool the big turbo. i went with a set of tomei procams 270 duration 10.8 lift. i
with such a high lift i went with tomei shimless buckets as well. also paired with a set of supertech single valve springs and titanium retainers with supertech valve seals and bronze magnesium guides. the cams were mounted on a set of tomei adj cams gears to get them dialed in.
for fuel your going to need a twin set up if you want to leave it intank. a powerhouse racing fuel hat to fit two bosch 044s would work but they say the stock fuel lines max out around 650whp so i went with a external set up. -10 feed and -6 return all feed by a aeromotive a1000 pump, filter, and fpr. i also went with a tomei 11mm fuel rail and a set of precision 1000cc injectors. however if i had more money at the time i would of gone with a set of id 1000s or even 1600s. dont forget machining costs. i extremely underbudgeted for machining and it bit me in the ass. at the end of the day for a build like this your looking at about 2k just in maching. also keep some money aside for misc id say while my assembling was going together i spent about 1500-2000 in stuff that i never thought of. little stuff comes up and isnt cheap if you want it fast.

basically thats the route i took. its not the best route or the cheapest route to take but i thought it might be helpful to give you a rough idea of how things should go. i hope it helps.

thanks ^ took me about 11 months but its finally coming to a end! im stoked to see another big single build i forgot to add a ecu! i went pfc djetro. its older technology without some features like launch control, boost by gear, altitude adjustment but its cheaper and tunable!

Probly get an aem v2...they seem hella legit. Looks like you have quite the build man! cant wait to see dyno sheets/ video of it! The build probly wont start till closer to the end of winter. Still have a couple debts I need to pay off first . Car may not be done for next year so maybe the following year. Right now just need to find a garage for it so I can start pulling the motor and start doing insane wire tuck. Want my bay to be as clean as DJ's was. Alot of work but worth it in the end!

May this money pit get started!

Anybody else have input on the engine build?

                      • If I were you, I wouldnt get into all that right now.Enjoy the car as it is .As long as the motor is healty you should use it the way it is.You can modify lil things at a time but I wouldnt suggest going out and dumping 15g's+ into your car.Thats what I should have done in the first place.
My car keeps on stealing my money .

Compression test isnt really the results I wanted...each cylinder is 130-135psi so i'm going to do a rebuild. This way I can say I built the motor aswell (more bragging rights :P)

                          • the aem v2 is nice. i was thinking about it but the tuners that are somewhat local perfer the pfc. if i was going to go aem the only place i would take it would be psi in portland. also im with dj my original plan for the car was going big single on the stock interals and boost it til it breaks. but i did a compression test before i started and had 60psi in two cylinders. with your compression test consistent accross the board i would just boost it til it breaks then go with your build from there!

                            • Should I just try to go big with the motor as is and get some bigger injectors and rail, fpr, pump and standalone? See when it pops? haha it could be a test to see how much hp this motors good for with low compression

                              • Went to lordco today and then hopped back into the car and started it and a huge cloud of blue smoke came out. Came home and did another compression test and cylinders 1,2,3,5,6 all had 145 and cylinder 4 was 85 piece of garbage rings! Looks like im gunna do a little rebuild
