    • Went out for a short run tonight to simcoe (through the back roads ) to make sure nothing is bad , borrowed an igniter from dickered32 who very kindly lent it to me for this coming weekend.

The greddy profec was still set for the factory turbos and it needs alot of fiddling because boost builds too slowly . I fumbled my way through the menu and lowered the boost response control and holy crap its wicked

Set the boost limit to .75 bar and opened it up a few times .

The tomei twins build boost fast and make power in a very linear fashion , shifting gives no sign of flutter or shuffle when coming off the gas a bit and the power is there - immediatly when you stomp the go pedal again. The Greddy suction kit is alot quieter than the hks mushroom setup i had before. You can still hear the induction noise but it's almost to quiet to hear.

I got back opened the hood to check for leaks and check levels etc and the biggest thing i noticed was the lack of heat under the hood. I cant believe how much difference ceramic coating the headers , dumps , downpipe makes. I could put my hand on the hard piping and it was just warm. This is great

The only leak was the rips catch can , the washer fluid pissed out of it when i added it because the grommet holes for the pumps were too big. Not going to complain because thats the easiest thing to fix

Sat in the workshop hot you can hear the coolant surging through the water lines from the turbo with the engine off , i guess the tomei line design is doing its job quite nicely and the coolant is cycling through the turbos thermally .

I'm going to try and install the Apexi avc-r before the weekend , depends how this week goes .. I DID manage to mount the front JUN lip from Cunits Group buy and it looks good with the seibon JU style hood , That reminds me , i have to remind him about something - wonder if he will be coming on saturday .

              • just read through this the first time.
                i love your black hoses.
why did you go with a power fc?
why not something more update / quicker processing speeds?

                • Went with a power FC because it seems relatively well supported by tuners in this area . And it's fine for my power goals and mods.

                  • Stardate - tonight at around 10:30 pm (tea time)

My blower motor made some funny thumping noises towards the end of last year before finally quitting and i always meant to pull things apart and find out what went wrong , well , tonight my wife fell asleep 5 minutes into the day of the triffids (admittably it's not really a chick flick) so feeling restless and seeing as how the outside temp was actually habitable for humans for a change i decided to go investigate.

15 minutes on google and i cant find anywhere which tells me how or where the blower is so i grabbed a guiness and went out to investigate. 15 seconds after following a hunch it might be behind the glove box , i found it behind the glove box .

3 X 8mm nuts holding it in , 2 of which came out easy but the 3rd required the removal of the ECU and WTFAARK wiring mess to behold - next project is remove all the wiring not needed and tidy it up - sometime next week !

However I did find this -

Hmm anyone shine any light on it ? i tried googling it and didnt really come up with anything useful. Couldn't find a company website or anything. Looks like it may be a chipped ECU , all the more reason to remove it and install the PowerFC asap.

Out fell the blower and immediately it became obvious what the problem was -

It had a ton of white fibres from a sleeping bag that was somewhere else in the garage and more **** in it than justin Beibers diapers. This wasnt just a mouse house , it was an entire rodent colony living in a highrise nest. No wonder the inside had a slight odour of death everytime i took a ride.

Pulled about 2 times this much out form the immediate air chamber and sucked out about another 4 cups of faeces.

I dismantled the fan and motor assembly and cleaned everything with brake cleaner , re- lubed the motor bearings and wd40'd the motor armature and tested it on a battery ( all works again ).

Threw everything back together and went for a drive with windows down , heating on and the great smell of brake cleaner blasting out of the vents , its better than mouse **** , but ill febreeze the vents tonight and leave the vents shut so it can work it's magic..

                      • They normally do some pretty good stuff. They have mad many cars to be 500-800hp and they are solid.

You definitely have a properly tuned ecu there
Miss driving sooooo bad! Need to get a car on the road ASAP!
