Oh, and they're about 1/4 of the weight LESS than the steel GTS wheels; GTR are forged, lighter and stronger.

I love the look of the GTR OEM's.. it's going to take some mighty sex wheels to get me to budge..
it's amazing how great gtst's look with other OEM nissan wheels on them. 32 and 33gtr wheels = sex. Ima pickup r32 gtr wheels eventually, they look amazing.

It says it on the rim! Wanna fight about it?

Absolutely. Not only that, fitment is exactly flush. It makes no sense why they put such fail rims on the gtst and gtr.. had they thrown the GTR wheels on the GTST stock, it woulda been so much more epic..

Quadracer, all you man. You're not in MTL so i dont care :P

                --------------------------------

                Track day, it happened.
                To sum it up;

                18 celsius ambient air temp.
                220 F oil temp.
New tires flat spotted and scrubbed like CRAZY.
                Rear brakes are fried.
                Brake fade for days.
220kmh back straight into off camber? ya that's whats up.
                7 Skylines.
5-6 spin outs (2 very close calls!)
                Walls.. Walls.. more walls..

And a f**k load of fun..

Holy SH*T what an amazing day..

Car handled perfectly. The tires are definitely my MVP because, 1. i have never experienced such positive response, and 2. i have never been able to take a corner so fast and NOT lose the back end, in my life. UNREAL.. Down around 26 / 24 psi, we were gaining a good 4-5 psi overall. Tires handled so effin well, i cant get over it.. They're absolutely scrubbed on the sides; rough and bubbly, love it. Flat spotted slightly from hard braking but back to road pressure (36/34), they roll like new..

Apart from handling perfect, my car ran perfect. My intercooler water sprayer kept my intercooler temps fairly decent. Oil temps, even at 220f had zero effect on my pretty much, stock motor. Saw 15 lbs of boost all day with no issues.. Kept up to all the GTR's, if not, made ground and passed a couple 1100 kg ftw!!

Braking was good, ducts probably helped, at least more than not having them.
Fade was considerable on the back straight (hitting ~220 kmh ish). Eventually i'd start hammering the brakes sooner and easing off to save some braking for emergencies lol. Fade was wild, but again, goodridge lines, HPS pads, blank rotors and ducting.. OH not to mention, my rear brake pads/rotors ARE STOCK lol, rear pads are now crumbs and completely useless.. HPS all around next time, great street/track pad and easy on the rotors..

ummm. Ya, bout it... Was a great day, and definitely something i'll be doing again VERY soon. It's terribly addictive.. fml.

Pictures to come (400 or so to sift through, and then josh has like, 1020294918401 and franki as well etc.. it may take some time.)

Thats 15lbs on your stock turbo?

I would also watch your head gasket at that point.

                          • Car needs an engine/diff/trans oil change, HPS rear pads, and i'm ready to rock!

                            • --------------------------------------------

                              Engine oil changed!
                              Diff oil changed!
                              Trans oil changed!

Weren't too dirty but the engine oil was due after excessive heat saturation at the track. The heavy duty shockproof held up really well and was in good shape.. I was more concerned about removing any debris or shavings in both casings but they were relatively clean. Small shavings in the trans but no chunks or worriesome pieces..

Seeing as it was the weekend, i couldnt grab and redline product before the week, and since im so busy this week, its unlikely i would have had time to work on the car.. sooo.. I did a cheapo job, one that i've been questioning for some time now..

Motomaster 80w/90 LSD - meets GL-4 GL-5 MT-1 etc.. I did 2.4 litres of this and .6 litres of Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer in the transmission, and 1.6 litres of this and .4 litres of the Lucas in the diff.

Noticable differences? None, besides that this oil is much more viscous than the acclaimed redline which mimics, what? 175 or 240, something nuts? On cold starts, gear shifting is clean and smooth.. Notching slightly more into second and third cold, but when warm it's virtually gone. I've also had an incessant input shaft bearing whine.. The Lucas oil stabilizer is said to cure this, and surely enough, it has diminished substantially vs. the Redline. I know it's no cure, but as long as my trans makes it to storage ill be happy..

Plans with my trans is to do a complete rebuild, perhaps a stronger synchro set if its available? Any input?
At the moment i have a second RB trans at work sitting there, i may pull it apart soon and rebuild that. I know the gearset isn't meant for high power and 3rd is the typical weak spot, as we saw from KLYS' car this weekend at Sanair..

I want to build an RB trans with the stock housing that can hold a solid amount of power, up to 400hp lets say? Any reasonable ideas to solve this? Not interested in an RB25 trans, or Z32.. Those are my WORST case scenarios.. And my car will be making close to 360 hp next summer..

                              Open to discussion! ... Skym ? :P

                              Also;

Front brakes pulled, cleaned and replaced..

Front rotor guards are removed to allow for better air flow..

Just need to swap plugs, as the iridiums in there have seen 20,000 km and are probably in need of change.. Also want to try a colder plug, something like a BCPR7ES .. gapped to .7mil .. See how it goes. Having a hard time finding that plug, in that heat range though..
Ebay seems best, but anyone know any local retailers in Montreal besides crappy tire that carry these plugs? Napa?

HPS pads are needed for the rear.. In the mean time im going to get my rotors trued until i can spare the cheese for a slotted brake rotor kit..
Was debating HP+ but i dont think the brakes will be getting warm enough at this time of year in daily driver mode to benefit from their exceptional braking power. And plus the HPS' held up great on the track regardless.

Tires are a little unbalanced/flat spotted from the track.. Might take them in for a rebalance, swap them around and see if i can wear them back to "round" again hahah. Love them though, honestly couldn't be happier with the traction the new RT 615's give.

                              • What did you paint your rims and lugs with?

I want to do mine asap The blue lugs will look sick with my blue calipers

Our cars are very similar, I see even your window tint in the back has a purple tint to it like mine
