turns out 4/6 of the fasteners are supposed to be bolts anyhow. weird but its out of FAST.

just thought i would post how i went about removing the super corroded rear wiper nut

the BEST way to get it out is to mask off the surrounding window, then take a course file and just work on one side of the nut carefully until you can see the threads. then you take vice grips and grab on it the same way you would with regular wrench and turn the nut. it will bend open and fall off.

had to make a spot on the vg30 turbo for this fitting:

used some red loctite to seal it up

red loctite isn't for sealing, just preventing it from loosening off from vibration. Use a teflon tape for pipe threads.

its all i had on hand lol its on there good n' tight. i dont think its gonna leak
but, teflon tape would have been better your right.

DO you have a comparison pic of that VG turbo next to an RB20 turbo?

When I looked for turbo upgrades, I couldn't find enough info so I went with a GT30 haha.

It'd be cool for other RB20'r to see.

Please make sure you have a new Idler bolt/ and tesnioner nut with Lock tight!
Traction is optional, so are zipties

i dont. lol just reused the same bolt and nut. the idler and tensioner are reused too. they should be fine. only like 60xxxkm on them
will change everything when i do the timing belt

I strongly advise agianst it as it just cost me my engine. Tensioner backed off, belt vibration Sheered off bolt and valves met pistons BAM! Its 2$ to replace the bolt and nut+washer. Put lock tight on it even the red stuff you have!

Just watchen out for ya man.

Hey, I hope you are happy with your new turbo and dump pipe!

For the nipple that goes to the actuator, I simply tapped into my fmic piping...But your solution looks good too

I hope you will be able to make it run for friday!
