Whoaaaaa doubt you'll see a $40k plus budget build. I'm guessing for under $14k he will have it in the car and ripping up the streets! Almost the entire running gear was less then $4000. That only leaves him to find some odds and ends with the drysump being the most expensive. You can find RB25 or RB26 heads complete for dirt cheap and the rest is fairly inexpensive.

I got a fully built motor/head, I ran twin gt2860-5 last year and made 470whp @ 18psi running 94 octane from petro-canada. Next year I'm going with a bigger turbo probably precision 6765 with 91 octane with water-meth injection, should make around 700-750whp at 30psi hopefully. I don't think I'll be the highest HP but I'll do it with a smaller turbo. Most people don't have a tricked out head, mine is different in that respect. From my understanding I'm the highest horsepower gt2860-5 @ 18psi on pump fuel (on a chassis dyno) rb26 there, if someone can find better let me know.

old setup (basically stock everything) went 11.52@116. Made 331WHP at 0.75Bar on stock turbos/chipped ecu. timing around 25-27* at full throttle according to my techtom.

I've got garrett 2871R's (http://turbobygarrett.com/turbobygar..._707160_10.htm) now and am hoping to make 650+ with my new motor.
          1992 GTR - 2.7L, GT2871R's, forged bottom end, big valves, 270* cams, R34 getrag
          2000 Honda Insight - 70+mpg daily driver
          2003 Sierra 2500HD Diesel - Tow vehicle

I dunno ... to make massive power its gonna take way more than 14k to do it reliable. Y A properly done dry sump is like 10k. That being said if you take your time and cobble up your own you can do it for 4-6k. But im building an rb30 right now (it should be done in a week or two) I can show you the list of part if you want. You need rods and pistons on a rb30 if you wanna run more than 7.0 compression. (it may not be 7.0 but its a low 7)

Terrh : **** your a good driver.... 330whp should not make you go 11.52@116!!!! You where either going downhill (some dragstrips are like that), or you were making more then 330whp. GTR's weigh almost 3300lbs there's no way you did 116mph unless your car was stripped and even then. I'm not calling you out or anything I'm just saying holys*** your a good driver or something was wrong somewhere.

                Not really.

I went 12.0 at 114mph in a 4000lb car with only 360rwhp (so said the Mustang Dyno anyway). 11.50 at 116 in a 3300lb car comes out to aprox 415 flywheel HP which is about 350ish whp. It all depends on how grumpy the Dyno is on the day you were there.

With Terrh I know that he drives it like he stole it (how many trannies is it now....lol) so the mid 11 at 116 is not a surprise for me. Look at my time vs my speed in my sig. I should be going low 10's, I just don't want to change out my tranny every couple of months or so. BTW, my G-tech is telling me that I only have 437whp at 1.2bar, which is what the 128mph run was set at.

                Jon.

GTR-Dad made 525awhp on 94 octane from Husky (10% ethanol) with the same turbos running 17.5psi. He has a ported head, cams and is running a ViPec ecu.

I'm sure different dynos have different results, but I think most 2860-5 guys with some head work will be in the general ballpark.

I am running HKS2530s and made 430awhp on a Mustang dyno which normally read way low. Greddy cams and gears, ported head with 5 angle valve job, forged internals etc. I just got my ViPec and will be retuning at the same place GTR-Dad was at for around the same power levels.

I wish I could do it for 14k. This is mostly a track car so a lot of other necessary expenses come up. Just wait till you see my brakes. If I dont have the most powerfull gtr in Canada I will defiantly have the meanest brakes.

I meant the engine build for well under $14k, didnt you pick the motor up for less then $4k ? Iv been looking for a built RB30 there are tons for sale in Oz and the UK but not sure what my plan is yet. If I pick then I can drop my built engine in a little 1/4 ton haha now that would be fun !!

Greddy 264 / 9.15mm Cams. Nothing too agressive.

Dyno says 20psi, I think it would have been much higher than 430awhp if they went to 8000rpm. They stopped short due to misfiring. I have since upgraded the coils.

Sweet looks unreal ! I just though I would
Ask abut the mags because I had mid fire issues when first tuned my car with stock mafs.

I see you live in whitecourt ( I worked there for a few years ) I was wondering where you go to tune you car and if you could elaborate on your experience with that shop
                                Thanks
