Craptastic !
Hey.
Finished putting the engine back in a couple of days ago. Engine cranks but doesn't want to start.
Check fuel, good. Check ignition, good. So what's missing ?? Air...Check compression: nothing. All cylinders under 50 psi.
I guess the engine is coming back out again. We'll see if it's easier the second time...
That Rb30 is getting more and more appealing...1990 Nismo GtR #283

Is that a typical detonation sign ? As you can see #3 (on top) also shows some signs of whatever happened.

I'd say unless you are hella patient and/or hella rich, stick with the RB26. Have you read what money can buy yet? 8-)

Yes, to match it up with the bore sizes.
I can't remember off hand what the clearance is on my Wiseco's, but since they are forged it is larger than stock. There are also manufacturing variances in pistons. Your set of 86.5mm pistons can have a few thousands variance in them, so it's nice to have them on hand to match up each piston to the bore it's going in.1990 Skyline GT-R - Jet Silver Metallic

Makes sense.
Anyway the block is in for a hot tank followed by a magnaflux (see beginning of this thread for oil-in-prestone situation). It's not gonna be bored before another couple of weeks.
I'll buy the pistons if it checks all good. If not, well, I don't know what I'm gonna do. Start to prostitute myself maybe...:sick2:
Does wiseco provide the clearance with their pistons ?
Oh and my pistons are ordered by the way.1990 Nismo GtR #283

yeah wiseco includes a sheet with all your recommended clearances and ring gaps on there.
You were just talking about getting an N1 or an RRR block a few months ago, so a basic stock block buildup should be within your means financially :P1990 Skyline GT-R - Jet Silver Metallic
