Time for a little update:
Got my reinforced nismo fork pivot:
Oil pump is on:
Baffles and oil pickup:
Welded my oil return fitting (aluminum this time !):
Cleaned gasket goo from the oil pan and put the baffle in:
Closed the bottom end and started putting all the crap back on:
I also put my rebuilt turbo together and installed my throttle body seals (from XS engineering). If anyone wants some pics for that, let me know.
Now what sucks is that I still don't have a head. It is at the machine shop and I need new valve guides which I hope will be here next week so I can finally get it on the road.1990 Nismo GtR #283

Well it's been a while....my thread fell on the second page... :S
But I am almost there. I'm on vacations right now but as soon as I get back somewhere next week I should have everything together within a couple of days.

Final assembly
As promised, here are some more pics of what I've been doing lately.
Got my head back from the machine shop.
It has been decked:
New valve guides:
And a sweet valve job:
So I was working on the thing:
When I dropped a keeper on the floor. Doh ! I can only imagine how much they go for from Nissan....But even though my garage floor is far from clean, I found it after something like 45 minutes of looking everywhere. Lucky !
The culprit:
After all the springs went in, I still had some hardware to install:
Little bit later, shims and buckets are on the exhaust side. I got bored and went to watch some tv.
More to follow tomorrow.1990 Nismo GtR #283

Will do. It's nice that it's starting to look like an engine again.
The head is not totally on the block yet because of a tool failure. I only made it to the middle of the torque down procedure (they're at 80 ft-lbs right now). I still have to take them off and re-torque them.
More to follow.1990 Nismo GtR #283
