Simon..I know I keep on telling you the car is going to be ready soon but stupid me I always come up with some other ideas for this car that delays this whole process!! AAH......I'm just waiting for my flywheel and my oil cooler set-up and she's basicly ready to go back in.then tuning:S

    • Another little update,

I never thought this project would take so long its starting to drive me crazy.
Yesterday I removed the oil pan and changed the oil pump ,front main seal and also the rear main for new oem ones. Also installed a few other things like the n1 water pump, nismo thermostat ,oil stud on the block and steering rack fittings.

Here's how i'll loop the steering rack , just need to fit a hose to join the two fittings and fill the rack.

The oil cooler kit I assembled ( b&m 34row oil cooler, earls thermostat sandwhich plate, earls fittings ,earls stainless braided

      line.) And some other parts...

Now all that water cooled oem oil cooler is gone!

This is how she sits, painted and spot welded .Notice how much cleaner the engine bay is without the abs or wiring everywhere!

I'd love to see that route.

I think wrinkle red looks excellent. That being said, I think the wrinkle black would also look excellent on your engine.

Build is excellent DJ. Nice job man.

        • black would be way to dark , it would need an engine bay with contrast like white or a brighter color. Also wrinkle red doesnt really go well with polished items...

          • Engine had been out for a little refresh and clutch change, finally she's back in .Problems on the way...

Cams are the last to go on before the engine was matted to the transimission and dropped back in its place

Engine in, started to plumb the new oil cooler behind the passenger side bumper vent

Everything is basically ready to be re assembled except the stupid itbs gaskets won't come off at all i've tried everything , its the only thing holding me back....
Here's what she looks like at the momment.

Polished oil cap or black????I'm thinking black to go with the CAS

                    • I'm looking into a turbo blanket , and I need to figure something out for an intake pipe...I was thinking just to slap on some chicken wire on there lol but thats not civilised.

                      • No issue with running a cooler that size with no external pump? I almost went with a 30 row cooler but was shunned from it as i was worried about the stock oil pump being able to move that much volume over that much distance..

Also, in another thread i inquired about the DIY oil cooler system you rigged; anywhere in particular you purchased your parts from? It's definitely the best way to go for an oil cooler setup imo..

                        • Shouldn't have a problem with the oil pressure ,these cores are not supposed to drop the oil pressure at all cause of the much smaller veins.I have a buddy running the a b&m cooler that's a little bigger (mine is 11x8 his is 11x11) and he has no issues with his oil pressure running a n1 oil pump.
