I don't have a aftermarket ECU yet, I was looking into a nistune tuner three hours south (AutoDream) and a Vipec tuner 1.5 hours south (LightSpeed). AutoDream sells the nistune board, cable and software for $550, then add install and dyno time. Judging by AD's customer service they might not be around too much longer and it might be better to pay a little more for the superior ECU with a tuner closer to home. Maybe I'll bite the bullet and throw down 2k to get the ViPec installed and dyno'd, I could always sell the Z32 MAF.
Get the Vipec man, Honestly you will save money as I know Cam will have the tune done pretty quick. (aslong as all goes well on the car end) From my experiance It is worth the extra coin man.

I like my PFC but Vipec will do anything you ever want. Lets say you need another tune down the road, Cam will know your car/tune and quick in and out.

Also if you go top mount please get a decent one, dont go Godspeed/Obx. Your spool time will be wicked if you run twin srcoll/ with twinscroll turbo to match. I think you should look into the Garrett GTX 3071r seris:P

I'm looking at getting a 6boost twinscroll T3 with either a Borg Warner S256 or the Garret GTX 3071R you've mentioned. The smallest AR the S256 has is .70 with the GTX I can get it down to .63 to help spool even faster. Not sure which one I'll get just yet. I think my engine bay is going to be a little crowded with the top mount exhaust mani and IC piping, I may opt for a eBay front mount plenum as well. We'll see how it goes, I've heard the gains from the plenum are very minor so it's more of a cosmetic upgrade.
      Regards,
      Ken.

I can tell you that I love my front facing plenum and would buy it again if I had another 20. Yea its probably 1000$ once you add everything up and might need some custom work but just how neat and tidy it makes the engine bay. I say do it!

Then again I'm a bad influence!

Found this chart with BW out performing GT

There's quite a bit of info on the two compressors on the evo forums. BW's are more reliable and flow better at high rpm and boost. GT's are supposed to spool faster, which would be key on smaller displacement engines.
Evo Engine / Turbo / Drivetrain - Borg Warner s256 VS Gt30r!! - :helpme: Looking for opinions on these turbos which is better and what would u recomend:helpme: WOW THANKS FOR IMPUTim suprised on the response i decided to go with the BORG WARNER!!!{thumbup} :mitsu: PICS ENJOY:mitsu: http://i27.tinypic.com/2nlstbn.jpg...

The comparisons are done with the original GT designs not the new GTX which spools faster and provides more power. Im thinking that the GTX should be the better compressor for the money, but it won't last as long as a BW because it's a ball bearing turbo. BW has a BB turbo series (EFR) that's supposed to be pretty good. However the only twin scroll housings come with big AR's. The "smaller" (still big) AR housings are also all internally gated. BW's new EFR series also comes with ceramic ball bearings instead of Garretts more durable steel ball bearings.

Very nice chart. I still say Gtx because of our awesome small displacement 2Ls wicked reving cars. If I had a 25 I would use BW for sure!

this car looks really good. BUT please please please take out the red covers of the headlights and paint them flat black or like a charcoal color. almost so they look like the corner markers.

it just looks like your car is high. was that the plan?

I might get another set of headlights and leave em stock. It's impossible to see at night with them when they're painted.

BW S200SX twin scroll is pretty good too I guess

It was compared to a GTX3071 single scroll. I wonder how a '76 twin scroll would have done against it. Once again I'm on the fence.
                  Regards,

I havent updated in a while, so I figure Id post up a pic of my newest goodies.

My goals are to completely finish my project next year, upgraded turbo and all. I also want to throw in a R33 RB25 transmission. Im debating trying to jimmy rig the RB25 trans so I can still use the cable speedo or just opt for the electronic since Ill have the 60mm gauges anyways. Theres a few ways I can mod the 25's gearbox to make this happen, SAU has some good write ups (luckly I saved the URL to my HD when pictures worked). When Im in Australia Ill grab a Holden VL Turbo &/or Nissan Navara speedo assemblies, and perhaps a spare R33 Speedo Assembly.
                      Regards,
                      Ken.

Yup I beleive you have to be carful with the 25 gear as it doest just slip over, I heard you have to melt it a bit. Im sure RWD_GTR can confirm tho.

                              Supposedly:

The r32 sender body will have the incorrect positioning; it will wear the cog poorly and eventually break it.

                              Edit:
GTR speedo assembly does need a new groove cut, dont spend the money on the gtr pinion assembly GO THE NAVARA one guys, shaft is longer and therefore stronger when holding the r33 red cog in place..they both fit r33 box and both require a locating groove cut opposite factory groove.

Im back in the great white north after a 4 month hiatus. I came back from Australia a little earlier so that I wouldnt miss out on any upcoming work. I ordered a 6Boost T3 twin scroll, twin gate exhaust manifold. Kyle says he's shipping it out tomorrow THIS will be the summer where Ill have her all done engine performance wise. Ill buy my T3 GTX3071R, waste gates, and some 60mm gauges to fill the 5 spaces in my 2 pods. Then basically install my wideband O2 + 5 other sensors, cam gears, injectors, water-meth kit, intercooler, and new turbo setup. I may just opt for the ViPec at this point instead of the Nistune I was considering. Some bigger brakes will probably be a good idea once everything else is done. Hopefully we'll have some meets this year in E-Town.
