I wonder what the legalities are of dis-allowing people in one province to own automobiles that are elligible in other provinces? It makes it sound more and more like they want to become their own country. If one wants to move there, one will have to first sell their rhd automobile. What's next? Will one have to first prove they are fluent in English and French before being allowed to move from another province to Quebec?
Yikes!
So you are saying left hand turns are perfectly fine? It certainly has caused me issues when they are not staggered.
I totally agree with you Mcfly . Not everyone has the pateince to wait at left turn and there's been cases where i make a left turn but am not completely happy about it. it only takes one left turn where you weren't sure and end up in a crash.

It's be said before and beaten to death but I'll say it again:
That is the driver acting dangerously, not the car being dangerous.
The distinction is legitimate and extremely important.
^^ thats just an opinion am not saying the car is dangerous. I'll defend RHD till i die.
anyways its not what we think about RHD cars its what the law thinks and the count of RHD vehicles and owners is minor compared to the LHD so its hard to convince them
well you know what...
we should all ban together and say they are discriminating against our rights. i mean we all pay taxes, we all pay insurance.. a hell of a lot more than everybody else does.
what we're doing doesn't hurt anybody. if anything, they should be pulling senile people who are in no shape to drive off the streets. I guarantee that'll reduce accidents. i personally believe that none of their reasoning is very valid or legitimate. if anything, i think they're just trying to go on a mad power trip.
Japanese and European automotive standards are WAY ahead of us. It's nearly impossible to acquire a German drivers license, Finland encourages things like racing, so it can be done safely. I'm not gonna lie, if I were in Germany, it's highly likely I wouldn't be allowed to drive, but that's ok, ecause I know there is a higher standard to uphold and all the people who DO have licenses are actually competent decent drivers. Japan and Germany are way way way ahead of us in terms of automotive anything. Their cars are nicer, higher quality, their DRIVERS are better than ours (generally) because of their strict standards).
I love how some people gloat about how amazing our driving standards are, with Ls and Ns. And how if you get 2 speeding tickets you lose your license. It's the lousiest, ****tiest system ever. Every time I explain our program to a foreign friend, they comment about how ******** it is. We(icbc) might be proud of our program, but nobody else is imitating us... perhaps we're doing it all wrong.
One of the main reasons I got a skyline, is because there are no good comparable cars in North America. Name ONE car, that is comparable.
- 2 door
- inline 6
- turbocharged
- all wheel drive
- AFFORDABLE (so no bemers lol)

If this spreads across Canada that would really suck. I'm just glad i got rid of my Fairlady and pick up my GT-R. Maybe i should pick some more JDM only cars before its too late.
It'll happen. It's a matter of time. Only some the true Skyline diehards will convert to LHD. It sucks, but I agree with the reasoning...

i was just told the following by a very very very reputable source within the ontario aautomotive scene.
"Don't know how credible that source is - I just called SAAQ myself and
they looked it up in their system and had no such information. Again, I
may have been speaking to someone who had no idea what they were talking
about but they sounded pretty confident. As far as I know it's very
difficult to Provincially legislate restrictions and bans as there are
so many crosses to and from each province every day - that's why
Transport Canada does it federally.
If this did go through, then it would have been passed by the Minister
of Transport in QC directly - something really bad must have happened
for them to act so quickly."
he heard about it early this morning and has been on it since. he doesnt think it is legit but will be keeping an eye on it.
this wasn't some nobody either, it came from one of the best importer, driver (pro and am), and overall biggest enthusiasts out there.
