Why I Am Here: besides making sure no one in eastern canada gets a gt-r before me? i like cars, but not normal cars. if you drive down the street without people saying either "wtf??" or "holy sh*t", you have to find a new car. right now i own a 1966 lincoln continental, flat black, with suicide doors.
i guess i started to want a skyline specifically after playing gran turismo on playstation, as i'm sure many others here first learned about them this way. i never thought i could until i happened to stumble accross an importer at 4 in the morning a few months ago! since then i've learned pretty much everything there is about skylines and importing into canada.

        Hello!

        Reasons etc.
Love Skylines to bits. Had an R33 GT-S from 98, upgraded to a R33 GT-R in '02. Had some mechanical issues, but it's all coming good now.
This is the GT-R in a rare clean moment:

This is a feature from Japanese Performance on my lady's car and mine:

Why I'm here: To be apart of the Skyline community and learn stuff. I wrote off my 1st car, my turbo sunbird last January, a year ago. Havn't had a car since. Been paying off debt, and now I'm debt free. So I started looking for a car. I wanted something that was not common, such as a civic or jbody. I wanted something good looking, and fast. I wanted something with a turbo, and AWD. I have always loved Skylines, but never thought about it. Until a friend pointed me to Import Concern. And I'd just like to say Chris at Import Concern has been great. I've been emailing back and for with him for the past couple weeks, and he has been very helpful. So the plan is to buy a GTS-T Type M for May. Gonna fly to Vancouver then drive it home. I really need a car now, and want something for cruising come summer. And since the GT-R isnt available till fall, I have to get a GTS-T. So the plan is to buy one for summer, sell it in fall, and then save over winter, and get a GT-R next spring. Atleast thats the plan. We'll see how this goes. The main thing I'm concerned about is getting used to the RHD and the costs behind owning the car, maintenance, etc. But I'm excited. Hope to make a payment in the next couple weeks. Also been in contact with canadiangt-r. He's a friend of mine from Winnipeg Heights (www.winnipegheights.com). But I will probably be going with Import Concern. Nice to see this community here, and I hope to be an active member. Can't wait to get my Skyline

          -Steve

Reasons: I drive a 89 240sx. It's nice, with my real veilside body kit, but i was planning on getting a sr20det, but then i thought that i would move up the nissan ladder. The next step up would be the 300zx, but then i thought "Godzilla". I got the 240sx super cheap so that is how i'm making my money for the skyline, plus savings. I plan on ordering a skyline by christmas time.

Why I'm Here: Ever since I first got into cars, I've loved the Skyline GT-R more than any other car. Right now I'm driving a 2002 Chevy Impala LS, and I do like it, but I have a serious Skyline craving. Basically I'll spend the next 8-10 years of my life on this board dreaming about owning one, and then import a R33 GT-R V-Spec II and go nuts.

Why I'm here: I have loved skylines sinse i was super young and now that they are legal i want one , i will be selling my first car which is a 89 civic with a jdm b16a in it for the skyline which will be a big loss in my life because i grew up with the car, and finally to learn more and become more involved in the nissan/skyline community, peace

Currently Driving: Winter: 1989 Toyota Corolla AE95 Sedan, 5MT 4WD with a bluetop 4AGE swap + OZ WRC rally wheels. Summer: 1989 Toyota Cressida MX83, stock with 16" supra wheels, LSD + bald tires. Stored: 1985 Toyota Celica GTS RA65.
Why I'm here: Well, I found this forum through IC, and I couldn't believe the size + all the Ottawa ppl, so I decided to join. My first taste of Nissan was a 92 Maxima SE, great car for the money, but it was a front driver.. I moved up to an MX83 Cressida, essentially the same but I-6, RWD & LSD. I'm importing a Toyota JZX81 in a few years, have a small pile of jdm stuff for it now (Tein, Cusco, TOM'S), and hope the Ottawa GTR owners will go easy on me if they meet me on the street someday  I've been down to the Signal event, but my car wasn't really up to drifting. Feverishly watching from the fence, I expect to be participating in drifting in ontario in the next couple of years. Just joined to see what is happening with the new GTR owners, and maybe get together with some owners for a cruise or meet someday. 8)

I can see this forum has a wicked future, glad to see it.

Why I'm here: Because Skylines frikkin rule. I've been a car nut since I can remember and wish I found this place sooner. It would have saved me much time figuring out how I can own and aquire a Skyline. Right now I drive an S13 fastback with S13 silvia Front end. Powered buy a redtop Sr20det. Parting with it may be tough, but if it means owning a gtr...

Because I belive GT-R's are probably the most perfect vehicles ever invented. Also, I am going to New Zelend with a friend and I may be able to drive his uncles R32 GT-R, should be some great fun .

Why Am I Here: I love anything with an engine. Never used to really like (or dislike) imports until summer of 2003. A customer of mine brought a RB26DETT powered 88 Cefiro (Maxima) to sell as promo for his new import business. Car ran a 12.99 at 124mph on 17's with street skins. Never seen a car that plain (4 door, 6 cylinder) that would break rubber and go sideways at 80 MPH before. He is working on getting a mechanic in Japan to stick an RB26 in an 89 Silvia for me to bring to Canada. Any pointers would be much appreciated.

why I'm here: My current car's starting to go on me, and I either need to fix it right up, or get something in better shape, but for me, I prefer wagons, sport/liftbacks, or some 2door coupes, and for me, its rear or all wheel drive only. So that pretty much throws anything in the last 10 years out the window, at least that I can afford, and personally, I love the look of the r32's, I think they have great visual appeal, as well as have the performance. Thats why I am planning to acquire a (preferably) gunmetal grey r32 gts-t type M, auto, by the end of the year. I say auto cause, when finances allow, I will buy a gtr in years to come, and hopefully by then, my fiancee will be used to it, so the gts-t will become hers
                                85 Celica GT........... for now
