  • So my mirrors were in need of some paint...

I went to a store, gave them the paint code, double checked the colour and it looked perfect. picked up a sponge sander, some primer and some clear coat as well and went to work. Unfortunately, it being my first time ever doing paint, i noticed that i did not do enough prep. When i was spraying the primer, It looked like it was filling in nicely and i wouldnt see much of the damage in the end. Well paint came out awesome, but you can see the original damage still. oh well. Still a hundred times better than before.

    Primer, ready for paint

    Painted, ready for clear

    • Use a high build primer, fills in the scratches and nicks, works awesome,

      • Meh. I don't mind anymore. But if I repaint them again, I will definitely go for it. It's still way better than before

Thank you sir! yeah definitely wait till winter. Dont wait too long though. if you end up having to get any machine work done, youll be waiting a couple to three months.

            • nice mirror lol. but honestly best way to learn how to do anything is to do it. and props for doing that. i usually do use filler for anything i do. problem with high build primer is that sometimes it wants to crinkle when you apply the paint or clear. maybe you dont really know what that is... but you dont want it haha. anyways. looks good for what it was!

cant wait your motor to show up btw haha.

                      • Curious, how low was it at lightspeed for, what all was done, who was the builder (tech name?) and who did the machinist? Curious if I should have gone with them...

I had it had Lightspeed for 4 months. It took a while because I kept deciding to order more and more parts cause I kept wanting to upgrade small little parts here and there. But totally worth it. Arie is the name of the builder. I don't know who he uses as a machine shop. But all the work looked perfect.

Correct! Just in case the head fills up with too much oil. Drains back into the pan where I tapped in another fitting.

                            • Got some good work done today. Got everything together except the turbos. Drilled into each individual port on the intake so It is ready for the meth injection. Tomorrow I need to buy some studs to connect the manifolds to the turbos, then connect em all up. I should hopefully have the tranny hooked up to the engine tomorrow and possibly even start dropping it in!
